About Game = Watchdog 2 (styled as WATCH_DOGS 2) is a 2016 action adventure game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is a sequel to the 2014 Watchdogs and has been released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. Set within a fictitious version of the San Francisco Bay Area, the game is played from a third-person perspective and its open world can be reached on foot or by car. The players control Marcus Holloway, a hacker who works with the hacking group Dedsack, which has developed a modern surveillance system called ctOS. There are many ways to complete missions, and each successful assignment increases the number of Dedsack followers. Cooperative multiplayer allows you to interact with a competitive fighter and other players in order to neutralize a player who is causing havoc.
Ubisoft Montreal studied players' impressions from the first game to gauge what could be improved in Watchdog 2, and traveled to California frequently to research the sequence. Ubisoft Reflections was responsible for eliminating the driving mechanic. Real hackers were consulted to validate the script, and game mechanics was deemed fictitious for authenticity and references to real-life hacktism, such as Project Chinology protests. The original soundtrack was produced by Hudson Mohawki. The game was released to the overall positive reception of critics who praised the game for improving the original watchdogs in areas such as hacking, configuration, characters and driving. However, character contradictions, firearms, and repeated technical issues that were later patched up - were deemed incomplete. A sequel, Watchdogs: Legion, is in progress.
