About Emulator = BlueStacks is an American technology company that develops BlueStacks app players and other cloud-based cross-platform products. The BlueStacks app player is designed to enable Android applications on PCs running on Microsoft Windows and Apple's Mac OS. The company was founded in 2009 by J. Vishnu, Soman Saraf and former McAfee CTO Rosen Sharma and board members of Cloud.com.
Investors include Anderson Horizons, Redpoint, Samsung, Intel, Qualcomm, Citrix, Radar Partners, Ignition Partners, AMD and others.
The company was announced on May 25, 2011 at the Citrix Synergy Conference in San Francisco. Citrix CEO Mark Templeton unveiled the first edition of the BlueStacks Stage and announced that the firms have formed a partnership. The public alpha version of the app player was launched on October 11, 2011. The app player came out of beta on June 7, 2014.
